# Stop guessing which row is Friday afternoon.

 GCal Time Peek is a free Chrome extension for Google Calendar. Hover anywhere in the grid and it tells you the exact time slot you are over. It also lets you set how tall an hour is, so the whole day fits your screen instead of running off the bottom.

## Two small things Google never fixed.

 Google Calendar prints the time down the left-hand edge only. By the time your cursor reaches Thursday or Friday, you are counting gridlines across a wide screen and hoping you landed on 2:30 and not 3:00.

 The Appearance setting offers exactly two densities. Compact can leave a large monitor two thirds empty. Responsive can push the end of the day off the bottom of the window. There is nothing in between, and no way to say how tall an hour should be.

 GCal Time Peek fixes both, and asks for nothing in return.

## See the time wherever your cursor is.

 Three display styles, switched from the toolbar popup. Times follow whatever format your calendar already uses, 12-hour or 24-hour.

### Tooltip

 A floating label that follows your cursor with the exact time range for the slot you are over. The default, and the least intrusive.

### Inline

 The time appears inside the timeslot rectangle itself, so the label sits where you are already looking rather than beside it.

### Crosshair

 Highlights the whole row and column under the cursor, so you can trace from the time gutter across to the day you actually want.

## Make the day fit your screen.

 Your events, the current-time marker and the hour gridlines all move with the new layout, so nothing drifts out of place.

### Auto: fit the day to your window

 Sizes the hour rows so the full day fills the window exactly, with no scrolling and nothing cut off the bottom. It recalculates when you resize or move between monitors.

### Fixed: choose the height yourself

 Set an exact height per hour row, from 20 to 120 pixels, with a live preview as you drag the slider in the toolbar popup.

### Off by default

 Row height does nothing until you turn it on, and switching it back off restores every event chip and gridline to exactly where Google put it.

## It knows nothing about you.

- One permission: storage, used only to save your own display mode, colours and row height.
- Runs only on calendar.google.com, and nowhere else.
- No account, no sign-in, no tracking, no analytics.
- Nothing is sent anywhere. Every calculation happens in your browser.
